Drifting from Canada to California after an attempt at playing hocky for Kingston in the Ontario Hockey League, Vamp made the jump into lucha libre Mexican wrestling in the early ninties. He wrested in the EMLL and CMLL for most of his time in Mexico becoming very popular. After his recruitment into the WCW he was eventually paired with Raven and ICP to form what we all know as the Dead Pool. He played in integral part in swaying ICP's matches into the Dead Pool's favor. In this time Vampiro also became close friends with ICP, hanging out with them and taking sleeping pills with them (?). After ICP left WCW, vamp even came out in one of the ICP leather jackets against management orders. Then things started getting basically, fucked. The supposed story is that Vamp was getting no love in WCW by the bookers and WCW management because rumors spread by Konnan prior to his arrival had damaged his credibilty. He started getting jobbed (his match with Buff Daddy) and was given very little on air time. ICP then signed a year long contract with WCW but Vamp had gotten jobbed to Disco Inferno for kicking Disco in the head. Vamp had said he was going to walk. ICP, out of loyalty to Vamp, also told WCW to fuck off and bailed the company. Vamp and ICP were ready to jump over to ECW, but ECW signed the Sandman/HAK instead (is this the real reason? who knows). Vamp's fan response to WCW (again, supposedly) made WCW rethink their release of Vampiro. Hence, Vamp returned to WCW and ICP was left out in the cold. Since all of this has occured, Vamp was teamed up with the Misfits (misfits minus glenn danzig is like sucking on breasts without nipples) and has been pushed into into the light once again.
Now, we have yet another sketchy situation with Vampiro. Vamp was invited to join JCW and one side says he signed (JCW) and the other said that he never even began negotiations (Bob Barnett and Vamp). Whatever happened, Vamp is not in JCW and will never be invited to participate in any JCW event by word of double AA (Alex Abbiss). I personally love watching Vamp wrestle. His style is unique and his moves are executed gracefully. His lucha libre backgrond shows well. Beyond that where does Vamp stand with the clowns? Only time will tell.
