M500 INTERVIEW WITH KANE HODDER (JASON VOORHEES)
PART 2
9/2/2004

HODGE- It’s been about a year since our last
interview. In Hollywood a lot can happen in a
year.
I’ve heard that you’re gonna be in the new Rob
Zombie
film Devils Rejects, the sequel to House Of
1000
Corpses. What kind of role will you be playing?
KANE HODDER- I was the stunt coordinator for
Devils
Rejects. I helped Rob design all of the action in
the
movie as well as the kills and all the violent
shit.
The good stuff. This movie is really brutal and
fortunately Rob is just as screwed up in the head
as I
am so we really came up with some good stuff.
Very
violent. Just the way I like it. I really liked
the
first movie and this one will be even better.
HODGE- I’ve also been reading about a new film
in the
works called Hatchet. Aren’t you supposed to
star
in this film. Can you tell us a lil bit about
the
film?
KANE HODDER- “Hatchet” is a movie that I would
like
to do. Good script and good character for me to
play.
It hasn't been completely funded yet so I really
don't
know when that might happen.
HODGE- ICP’s VIOLENT J recently did an online
commentary in which he mentioned wanting to reach
you
about playing the WRAITH character in a future
ICP
video. Did he ever get a hold of you?
KANE HODDER- I haven't heard from VIOLENT J yet
about
playing the WRAITH character but I would love to
do
that. Just to do anything with them again would
be
enjoyable for me. Hopefully I will hear from Joe
about
that soon. Joe!...Email me....BITCH!!...
HODGE- Isn’t it also true that you were on the
set of
Psychopathic’s own ESHAM for a video shoot this
past
spring?
KANE HODDER- I did stop in at the ESHAM video
shoot.
Roy (of Sota F/X), who directs most of Psychpathic's stuff, is
a
friend of mine so I dropped in to say hello. Good
song.
HODGE- In a previous interview with me you
mentioned
an upcoming film called The Last Great Horror
Picture starring yourself(Jason), Robert
Englund(Freddy), and Gunnar Hansen(Leatherface).
Is
this movie still gonna happen?
KANE HODDER- It's actually called "The Last
Horror
Picture Show", and the status of that one is the
same
as "Hatchet". Not fully funded yet. Really
looking
forward to doing that one too.
HODGE- Not to dwell on some old shit, but in a
recent
online interview with C.J. Graham(JASON actor
from
part 6) he mentioned that he was also offered the
role
of JASON in Freddy vs. Jason. Most Friday the
13th
fans consider you the only actor worthy of
playing
JASON VOORHEES. I find it odd that the director
gave
the role to a guy who only had 1 scene’s
experience as
JASON, and even offered the role to an actor who
only
played JASON once 5 films ago. What gives man.
Did
somebody involved in Freddy vs. Jason have a
grudge
against you?
KANE HODDER- I talked to C.J. about this. It's
not
that he was offered the part. A casting call went
out
when they had decided to replace me, and CJ's
agent
wanted him to go in and audition for the part
again,
but CJ refused to go because he felt that they
were
fucking me over and he didn't want to be a part
of
that. That's pretty cool on his part if you ask
me. I
think you misunderstood what he said in his
interview.
It does kind of seem like someone, somewhere had
a
grudge against me. I was never given a good
reason why
I was replaced.
HODGE- Was their some kind of hidden message to
you
in Freddy vs. Jason? I’m referring to the
scene in
the mental ward where Texas Chainsaw Massacre
III is
playing on a background TV.. You were
LEATHERFACE in
that swamp fight scene right?
KANE HODDER- I don't think that there was a
conscious
message to me since that was playing on the tv. I
would bet that nobody at New Line even remembered
that
I was stunt-doubling LEATHERFACE in that scene.
Pretty
ironic though.
HODGE- Who are some of your close friends in the
movie business?
KANE HODDER- I don't really have any close
friends in
this business. People are usually too fake and
two-faced. That's why I gravitate to people like
ICP
and the juggalos of the world. No bullshit with
them.
My kind of people.
HODGE- Theirs been some rumors floating around
about
you starring in a new film called “Demons 5”.
Any
truth to this?
KANE HODDER- Same situation with that movie. Not
funded yet, but I would like to do it.
HODGE- Do you have a favorite horror movie?
KANE HODDER- My favorite horror movie of all
time is
a really old one, but I still think it's the
shit. It
still holds up with time. "The Exorcist".
HODGE- I wanna thank you for taking time out
with me
again to do another interview. Your fans are
always
starving for news on what your up to these days.
Any
last words for your fans reading this?
KANE HODDER- My pleasure Hodge. I always make
time
for you guys. Watch for Devils Rejects and for
the
season premier episode of the tv show "Alias". I
play
a GOOD GUY! Who the fuck would expect that?
