M500 INTERVIEW WITH KANE HODDER (JASON VOORHEES)

M500 EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH KANE HODDER AKA JASON VOORHEES.......
What up ninjas. Damn, what a miraculous week for me homies! First I got to be a drunk in the upcoming hollywood film "Ladder 49" and then I got to meet up with the Legend behind the mask- KANE HODDER over the weekend in New Jersey! Now in case you're not familiar with exactly who Kane Hodder is, than lemme give you a horror film history lesson real quick. Only one man has ever been ever to meet the physically demanding role of JASON VOORHEES for more than 1 FRIDAY THE 13th film...and that man is KANE HODDER! He played the hockey mask murderer for 4 of the Friday the 13th movies(#7- JASON X). It's been about 1 year since I last met up with KANE, and in Hollywood alot can happen in a year. Nuff said...here's the interview-

Hodge: What up killa. I'm glad I'm fortunate enough to get another interview with you. I'm a huge Horror Film fan & especially big into the FRIDAY THE 13th series.

KANE: Glad to hear it man.

Hodge: How was your experience working as an actor for the DAREDEVIL film?

KANE: It was ok. I was only on the set for a few days. The significant part about it was that I had the role of the hired thug who kills DareDevils father.

Hodge: I've heard you mention in other interviews that you would be up for one last role as JASON VOORHEES, if the sales from JASON vs. FREDDY are high and causes a demand for yet another JASON FILM. Things have changed since those interviews, is it still possible that we'll see you behind the mask again?

KANE: I'm positive that their will be more Friday the 13th films, but it's up to the director if I'm in them or not.

Hodge: Now in last years interview you were under the impression that the role of JASON was going to be yours in the upcoming movie JASON vs. FREDDY. Then to everyones suprise it was announced that we were gonna see a new actor playing JASON.

KANE: You think you were suprised, lol.

Hodge: The rumors floating around on the net were that you were passed up because either you were too tall and would dwarf Robert Englund, or that the director had to pick an canadian actor to fill the quota or some shit. Whats the deal Kane?

KANE: Yeah, I heard the "too Tall" excuse too. However, I'm 1 inch shorter than the guy they ended up picking for the role. Go figure huh. To tell you the truth, I'm not exactly sure why I'm not JASON for the 5th time.

Hodge: It's a damn shame too.

Hodge: Out of your 4 times playing JASON, which movie did you enjoy making the most?

KANE: I'd have to say part 7. It was my first one and that means something in itself ya know. Plus it had the most, and best kill scenes.

Hodge: True. I heard that a director from that film is trying to release a Directors cut of part 7.

KANE: I have a copy of it. They edited alot out. Good shit too. Just a little too violent for theatres I guess.

Hodge: Hey I always wondered something? In 1992's "JASON GOES TO HELL", thier was a scene when JASON's soul jumped into the body of a young cop. That cop "spoke" while possesed by JASON. Was that an error by the director. JASON doesn't speak...right?

KANE: I hated that scene! It was a rip-off from the film "the Hidden". He(director) figured that since JASON's soul wasn't in a crippled body, he could now speak.

Hodge: I feel that your role as JASON helped breathe new life into a series that was starting to run dry. And since you were removed from the role as JASON with no justification for the upcoming "vs. freddy" flick, I think JASON part 8 holds a lil bit of poetic justice for you and all your loyal fans.

KANE: Yeah, I can't really speak on that though...

Hodge: I can. In Friday the 13th part 8, JASON(you) has a kill scene where a Cook comes from behind the counter and you beat his ass and throw him head first into the wall behind the counter. I'm not mentioning any names, but JASON just killed the imposter Jason...hint hint!

KANE: LOL.

Hodge: Now even if the upcoming Jason vs. Freddy film does manage to kick ass, you'll still have the most sinister of fatalities. My favorite was when you punched the boxers head clean off in 8.
Hodge: Whats your favorite fatality you performed?

KANE: I have 3 favorites. When I crystalized the doctors face and shattered it in X, The sleeping bag kill in 7, and the head punch-off in 8.

Hodge: Alot of ninjas recognize you exclusively from you role as JASON. However, you've worked on several known films(actor & stuntman). A few that come to mind are- Under Siege, Wishmaster, Leatherface, DareDevil, Demolition Man, Children of the corn 5, and Spawn.
Hodge: Any less known films that come to mind?

KANE: A bunch of stuff. Lets see, Rapture, T.N.T., Project Metal Beast, plus tons more films I can't recall at the moment. KANE: No matter what I've done though, the Friday the 13th films are my pride and joy.

Hodge: Whats the deal with these "straight to video" films I keep seing at blockbuster called "Bloody Murder"? They have an imposter Hockey Mask killer on the front covers.

KANE: I haven't seen them yet, but I'm sure they could be sued over it.

Hodge: What was it like working with ICP & TWIZTID in the "Another Love Song" video? You were the stunt car driver right?

KANE: Yeah, I was the driver. Those guys are incredible! I had a blast working with them. Especially JAMIE MADROX. Man, he really knows his horror films.
KANE: In fact, I was trying to get ICP in the JASON X film for the retro camp scene. Alex, never got back to me though. I was even hopping to get MADROX to do some soundtrack work on JASON vs. FREDDY before I was passed up for the role.

Hodge: Do you still keep in touch with ICP or TWIZTID?

KANE: Man, I'd love to catch up with them again soon! In fact I was trying to appear at Gathering that one year when it fell on a "Friday the 13th". Our schedules just clashed I guess.

Hodge: You know this years GATHERING is being held at a campground...with a Lake, lol. Any chance of the Real JASON VOORHEES lurking around the camp ground at night?

KANE: That would be great wouldn't it!
KANE: I'm gonna have to get ahold of ICP really soon.

Hodge: Ever run into JUGGALOS at conventions or signings?

KANE: Yeah, all the time. In fact, I usually make it a point to chat with em about Psychopathic stuff.
KANE: Check this out...(shows me a tattoo on his chicks back...of a hatchet man)

Hodge: Did I see you at an ICP concert in Philly awhile back?

KANE: Yeah, probobally. They put on a hellava show!

Hodge: Well, before I let you get outta here, whats your favorite ICP song?

KANE: It would have to be "Mr. HAPPY".

Hodge: Thanks again for the interview Kane. You are a true Horror movie Legend.

KANE: No Problem. Anytime man.
