AN EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW
WITH HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES STAR BILL
MOSELEY
Man, have I got a treat for all you horror movie fans
out there! I've been fortunate enough to conduct an
exclusive interview with BILL MOSELEY himself. You
probobally know Bill as "OTIS" from his recent leading
role in Rob Zombies "HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES". Bill has
appeared in dozens of other horror films as well such
as- Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, Night of the Living
Dead, Army of Darkness(Evil Dead 3), and too many more
to mention. With "HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES 2" and a new
album by Bills band CORNBUG on the horizon, lets find
out what’s on in the mind of MR. CHOPTOP these days.
HODGE- Welcome Bill. First of all I want to
congradulate you on the success of “House of 1000
Corpses”! I loved the way the film had a similar feel
to some of the classic horror movies of the 1970’s –
80’s. When does filming for the sequel begin?
MOSELEY- The latest I've heard is that we start
filming the House of 1000 Corpses sequel in the
beginning of April ('04). Because he doesn't want our
characters to become cartoons, Rob Zombie says it will
be darker and more violent than the original, although
I'm not sure how that's possible!
HODGE- It’s apparent that Hugo’s character(Grandpa)
won’t be returning due to his unfortunate passing.
Can you confirm which characters from the original
will be back for the 2nd film?
MOSELEY- Apparently, the Firefly family gets rousted
from our home by a S.W.A.T. team, and Baby, Captain
Spaulding and I hit the road for some murder & mayhem.
I can't wait! Sadly, we'll be without Dennis Fimple,
who played Grampa Hugo. Dennis died last year, and
we're gonna miss him.
HODGE- Even before the trailers were put out for the
film, it received a lot of publicity because the
famous rock star ROB ZOMBIE was announced as the
director. However, he wasn’t the only accomplished
musician on the set of House of 1000 Corpses. In fact
your band “CORNBUGS” are set to release your 4th LP in
a few weeks. What type of music is it and who are the
other members in your band?
MOSELEY- Thanks for asking about my band! CORNBUGS
consists of me on vocals, Deli
Creeps drummer Pinchface on drums, and Guns N Roses
guitar god Buckethead on, well, guitars! We've
self-produced three CDs- Spot the Psycho, Cemetery
Pinch & How Now Brown Cow- and our fourth CD, Brain
Circus, will be coming out in mid-February! You can
get em all at your Cornbugs world headquarters,
www.choptopsbbq.com! It's rock, I guess, with drums,
drum machines, Bucky on electric &
accoustic guitars, electric bass. Check us out!

HODGE- You recently appeared as the character Possum
in the popular HBO original series “CARNIVALE”. Will
the series be back on HBO next season?
MOSELEY- I've heard that "Carnivale" will be back on
HBO for another season. I have no idea when shooting
will start or whether or not I'll be back as Possum-
the carnival cook. It was a great job, so I sure hope
I am! Everything about the show was fun & cool, from
the cast to the production design to the costumes to
the locations (never more than an hour outside of Los
Angelos).
HODGE- You’ve landed roles in dozens of horror films
in your career. Some of the most famous movies you
were in include- The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2(as
CHOPTOP), Night of the Living Dead, Army of Darkness,
and House of 1000 Corpses. Out of all of your films,
which do you feel was the most rewarding to be a part
of?
MOSELEY- I was just on IMDB.com (internet movie
database) and realized that I've been in close to 30
movies! Some were good movies, some were real
stinkers, but I'd have to say that my favorites are
House of 1000 Corpses and the Texas Chainsaw Massacre
2. Working with
Rob Zombie and Tobe Hooper was a real pleasure. They
both encouraged me to go for it, which is what I love
most about acting. The characters of Otis and Choptop
were about as fun as you can get…as long as you leave
em on the set and don't bring em home with you!
HODGE- Do you have any other movie projects that your
going to be working on until House of 1000 Corpses 2
begins filming?

MOSELEY- Any actor worth his weight in salt always
has a few upcoming projects on the burner.
I think I'm in a movie Tobe Hooper's set to direct
called "Brew". I say "think" because until the
contract's signed, you never know in Hollywood. It's
a horror/comedy set in an abandoned brewery that some
kids inherit. I play a member of the undead family
that lives on the blood lager we make in the catacombs
beneath the brewery.
I'm also co-producing and acting in another
horror film called "The Forest Prime Evil,"produced by
Ilya "Superman" Salkind and directed by Tom Savini.
"Forest" is going to make "Wrong Turn" look like "Spy
Kids"!
I have a movie coming out called "Home Sick,"
written by Evan Katz and directed by Adam Wingard,
which I like to describe as a "Gummo" slasher flick.
I play an insane motivational speaker named Mr.
Suitcase. Very bloody, even for me!
HODGE- What actors/actresses would you put on your
co-star wish list that you haven’t already worked
with?
MOSELEY- I don't really have any actors or actresses
on my wish list of people I want to work with. I'm
happy working at all, so anyone I work with is fine
with me. I just did an episode of "ER" last week
where I lay in bed and blinked and moaned- working
with that cast was fantastic! "Brew" is set to
include Amanda Plummer and Brad "Chucky" Douriff, and
the "Forest" cast includes Gunnar "Leatherface"
Hansen, a good buddy of mine.
It's a great line of work if you can get the
jobs, persevere through the long lean times, keep your
head from eating what's left after Hollywood has
chewed your hide. But if you stick around long enough,
the fun absolutely kicks in!
Well there ya have it Juggalos! I wanna thank BILL
MOSELEY for granting me the interview. I've been a
huge fan for years. Best of luck on all your upcoming
projects. For anyone interested in purchasing
